There is something to be said for punishment.

There is something to be said for rehabilitation.

There has to be an ethic that helps all get along better!

It is here proposed that there IS such a principle, that it springs from solid logic, and that the world can be a better place because of it:

There are 6+ billion people who don't care about YOUR dreams.

They care about theirs.

IT THEREFORE FOLLOWS - as surely as turmoil follows selfishness - that the only sustainable behavioral model is attaining your own dreams through helping others attain theirs.

Hitler had a behavioral model.

He would get others to do what he wanted by pointing a gun at them.

Some thought, "What a beautiful ideal!" - as long as it was not pointed at them.

The problem with his model was that he was sure to be killed, in retaliation, by someone not yet shot enough.

Looking down upon others in order to stand tall - even by a boss - invites - no ensures - retaliation - and is the root of all prejudice.

Hating a boss invites - no ensures - retaliation.

Knocking down tall buildings invites - no ensures - retaliation.

Hating because another culture trumps yours in terms of more advanced technology invites - no ensures - retaliation.

And, indeed, teaching little boys and girls to hate invites - no ensures - retaliation.

The only sustainable behavioral model is Happiness Is Making Other People So! TM.

And it works whether you be Mother Teresa or the greatest user abuser the world has ever seen.

It is the only behavioral model that does not invite - no ensure - retaliation… for unless you are self-destructive or insane, you will always go along with me, if you perceive my actions to be helping you attain your dreams.

And if I want something from you, again, the only sustainable behavioral model is Happiness Is Making Other People So! TM.

And it works whether I be Mother Teresa or the greatest user abuser the world has ever seen.

Can't our individual dreams all just get along?

Yes, if our insecurities and lacks of self-esteem can!

And yes - if WE realize and live the truism - consistent with any religion - and with skepticism about any religion - that Happiness Is Making Other People So! TM.
